"Creating cultures that cope with complexity" This talk will look, from a cultural change perspective, at the challenges faced by one IT-dependent Government department in responding to its changing operating environment. It will explain: how increases in complexity have brought about the need for fundamentally different ways of working; how collaborative communities have been used to counter the acute problems that hierarchical and silo-ed organisational structures present to agile working; how changes to ingrained cultures restricting the delivery and management of IT-based capability are being tackled; and how open behaviours are crucially important to the success of open technology platforms and services.
